Smokey Lemurian Quartz
Smoky Lemurian Quartz - The Descent
As autumn deepens, life begins its slow return to the earth.
The canopy thins. The light lowers. What was once happening openly above ground begins its retreat towards root, soil and darkness.
Smoky Lemurian Quartz reminds me of this descent.
The fine striations of Lemurian Quartz have long inspired associations with ancient wisdom and knowledge held beneath the surface. Paired with the earthy depth of Smoky Quartz, it feels like something ethereal brought firmly back to ground.
I love the idea that wisdom is not always something we have to reach upwards to find.
Sometimes the work is in coming back down.
Into the body.
Into our lived experience.
Into the quieter parts of ourselves that already know.
This is the stone I want close when I have spent too long searching outside myself for an answer. When I need to stop reaching and listen instead to what experience has already taught me.
Autumn mirrors this movement beautifully.
As the visible world retreats, life gathers below the surface. Roots deepen. Energy is conserved. Growth continues somewhere we cannot necessarily see it.
The tree does not mistake its descent towards the roots for failure.
It simply knows where its energy needs to go.
Perhaps there are seasons when we must do the same.
***
I'm a sucker for beautiful internal rainbows, so these pieces were no-brainers. That little flash of colour inside such a deeply earthy crystal gets me every time.
