Shamanic Dream Quartz
Shamanic Dream Quartz - The Return
Memory has its own geography.
Shamanic Dream Quartz has always reminded me of the places we carry within us. Its inclusions form strange little worlds inside the crystal: forests, earth and mist suspended beneath the surface, like landscapes waiting to be wandered.
It is the stone I reach for when I am missing someone.
When something brings them suddenly to mind and I want to follow that thread for a little while.
A voice.
A photograph.
An ordinary moment that became precious because now it is only a memory.
As autumn deepens towards Samhain, a season long associated with remembering those who have passed, I find myself more willing to wander backwards.
Not because remembering can undo absence.
But because, for a moment, it can make the distance feel smaller.
Those we have loved leave entire landscapes within us.
Places built from stories, moments and all the small details that made knowing them ours.
And perhaps this is memory's own kind of homecoming.
Not returning to what was.
Simply finding our way back to someone we thought felt far away.
For me, a stone for wandering the forest of memory and bringing someone we miss a little closer.
